In August the number of devices running different versions of Android OS has been revealed. Like what we have expected JellyBean (v4.1 + 4.2) dominates the market by capturing a 45.1% market share while the devices running Android v2.3.x Gingerbread and v4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich are decreasing. The down fall of Gingerbread continues. Till July it was running in 33.1% devices but now it only runs in 30.7% droids. ICS manages to run on 21.7% devices.
Without any surprise Donut v1.6 and Eclair v2.1 disappears from the market. Android v2.2 Froyo is still used in 2.4% smartphones. Possibly by the end of September Jellybean powered smartphones will reach 50% mark. Honeycomb is somehow alive with mere 0.1% share.
Android Market Share till August
Android 4.4 KitKat is coming to market any time soon. Hopefully it will will start sharing some of the market of JellyBean in near future. So are you on JellyBean?
